Strathspey Thistle 0 v Keith 1

MAROONS STRETCH UNBEATEN RUN TO FOUR GAMES

Keith completed their only league double of the season in midweek when a Matty Tough goal at Strathspey stretched the unbeaten run to an impressive four games over 10 days of fraught action, hoisting the Maroons up into 14th spot in the table at the same time.

The Grantown men are not the easy touch they were earlier in the season, so not unexpectedly this was a hard fought encounter. If truth be known Jags edged the first half without finding the back of the net. The Maroons, minus Ryan Robertson, Kieran Yeats, Lewis Coull, James Brownie and Nathan McKeown, showed more purpose in the second half, but it wasn’t until the 72nd minute that the crucial breakthrough came – young loanee Ewen Murray surging up the left flank and cutting the ball across the goalmouth for the alert Tough to gleefully ram home his 4th goal of the season from six yards.

KEITH – Reid, Killoh, Murray, Yunus, Addison, Wilson, Elphinstone, Hutcheon, Tough (Smith), Ironside (Cumming), Duncan (Mooney). Subs unused – Robertson, Irvine.

Referee – Mr A Proctor
